Hello, Hockeytown

So, it looks like Michigan's Al Montoya is headed to the Rangers next season. Big surprise. Honestly, I can't say I'm all that disappointed. Montoya was less than stellar last season and actually admits to being bored and distracted during games. He was pretty much anti-clutch (as Sv pointed out, that makes him "automatic"--get it, no clutch!) in big games. Welcome to the era of Billy Sauer, M Hockey fans.

Even if you're not a Wings fan, you should be able to appreciate the heartfelt letter by Grind Line veteran, Darren McCarty in today's Freep. While I realize it's impossible to keep the classic team intact, I will miss Mac. Incidentally, what does it say when a toothless hockey player writes a column that's more emotionally resonant than the Freep's usual Sap-fest, courtesy of Mitch Albom?
